We have also been named the number one company in DiversityInc's ranking of the "Top 10 Companies for Opportunity" for 2016. This means that Southern Company has been recognized not only as a diverse workplace, but as the top-rated company in America for providing opportunities for its diverse workforce.
In 2015, Southern Company was also named by Black Enterprise magazine as one of its "40 Best Companies for Diversity" and by Careers and the DisABLED magazine as one of its "Top 50 employers" for the disabled.

We have also been named a "Best for Vets Employer" for 2016 by Military Times EDGE magazine, the seventh consecutive year to be so honored. In 2015, we were named a "Most Valuable Employer for the Military" for the sixth consecutive year by CivilianJobs.com, and a "Top 100 Military-Friendly Employer" by GI Jobs magazine - the top-ranked utility for the eighth consecutive year.
