Anthony Topazi

Chief Operating Officer, Southern Company

Anthony Topazi began his career with Southern Company at Alabama Power in 1969. While at Alabama Power, he served as vice president of the divisions serving Birmingham and the state’s western region. He also served as executive vice president of Southern Company Generation and Energy Marketing and as senior vice president of Southern Power. He was named president and CEO of Mississippi Power in 2004.

Topazi earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Auburn University and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
